COBRA COMPOSITE DRONE DIVISION HIGHLIGHTS DESIGN, ENGINEERING AND PRODUCTION EXPERTISE FOR HIGH VOLUME UAV PROJECTS AT XPONENTIAL 2025

14th May 2025

Cobra International and its Composite Drone Division business unit will highlight its broad experience in adding value to drone and UAV manufacturing across all stages of project design, engineering, and production. Active in the unmanned vehicle systems sector since 2019, the company and its partners specialise in lightweight composite airframes and components for a global list of clients.

XPONENTIAL 2025 will be held on the 20 to 22 May at the George R. Brown Convention Center, Houston, TX, with Cobra exhibiting on the German Pavilion, booth number 2934. XPONENTIAL is the premier global event for uncrewed systems and autonomy showcasing the latest drone technologies, immersive exhibits, and collaborative programming across air, land, and maritime domains.

Cobra will highlight its design, engineering, and production expertise by displaying a unique new drone concept design that demonstrates the aerodynamic performance gains and low operating noise benefits achievable with an optimised airframe design. The lightweight carbon airframe uses high-modulus resins and a double bias carbon fabric combined with an internal rib and spar structure that maximizes strength, minimizes weight, and delivers superior flight dynamics and enhanced structural stability. Cobra has also included a radio-transparent zone for enhanced communications, precision moulded wing to fuselage assembly joints and full internal assembly of the flight control systems as typically seen on much larger drones.

Also on display on the Cobra stand will be a fully assembled 5.5m wingspan Swiftlet UAV platform. This compact tactical fixed wing UAV platform was developed by the Royal Thai Air Force and National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) for a broad range of survey, monitoring and search and rescue (SAR) operations.

In addition, the Cobra team will also exhibit the VETAL drone, a twin rotor vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) platform with a composite airframe manufactured by Cobra for an Asian client.

Joining Cobra on the German Pavilion will be long term partners Scabro Innovations B.V. and RV Connex Co., Ltd. Both partners work extensively with Cobra on state-of-the-art prototyping, advanced aerospace composite manufacturing and system design and integration for customer UAV projects. Scabro will display a series of EVO wings highlighting different materials and processing technologies with RV Connex presenting scale models of its Sky Scout Tactical UAS, Red Kite Surveillance UAS and JRV-01 Target Drone platforms on the booth.

“We are delighted to be exhibiting at XPONENTIAL 25 and are looking forward to being part of the German Pavilion. Cobra and its Composite Drone Division has now established a strong position in the UAV market,” comments Danu Chotikapanich, CEO, Cobra International. “We have created a unique one-stop solution for drone and UAV manufacturers, delivering advanced composite craftsmanship and cost-effective, smart engineering, with all solutions being backed up by Cobra’s high-quality, scalable production capacity.”
